According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, San Francisco 49ers WR DeAndre Smelter will start the season on the reserve/NFI list. He will continues to rehab his knee.
Smelter, a fourth-round selection out of Georgia Tech, is recovering from an ACL injury suffered last November in college.
Earlier today, it was learned that C Daniel Kilgore would start the season on the PUP list. These moves will count as the team attempts to get the roster down to 75 players before the Tuesday 1 PM deadline.
A source tells me #49ers are very happy with what they've seen both physically and mentally from WR DeAndre Smelter as he rehabs.
