Four South Florida players show off speed at pro day
South Florida held its pro day on March 6 outdoors on grass. A total of 17 representatives from NFL teams were on hand to watch, including San Francisco 49ers secondary coach Ed Donatell. Sam Barrington, LB (6 3/8, 235 pounds) - Barrington took part in position drills, and clocked in a 4.69 seconds in the 40-yard dash. He recorded a 37-inch vertical leap and went 10-foot-2 in the broad jump. Barrington also went 4.25 in the short shuttle. Cory Grissom, NT (6-1 3/4, 303 pounds) - The defensive standout had a good position workout and went 4.82 in the 40. He recorded 24 reps in bench press at the standard 225 pounds. According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports Bay Area, the San Francisco 49ers hosted former Florida State wide receiver Johnny Wilson on a pre-draft visit this week.
Wilson registered 41 receptions for 617 yards and two touchdowns in 10 games as a senior in 2023, per Sports Reference. His best statistical season came in 2022 when he hauled in 43 passes for 897 receiving yards and five touchdowns.
Throughout his collegiate career, Wilson caught 102 passes for 1,757 yards with eight touchdowns over four seasons. He spent his first two seasons with Arizona State before transferring to Florida
