SANTA CLARA — Jaden Dugger is starting to make his mark. The 49ers’ fifth-round pick (No. 154) in the 2026 NFL Draft showed his versatility in San Francisco’s preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans on Thursday evening, lining up at multiple positions. Defensive coordinator Raheem Morris has had Dugger spending most of his time in the linebackers room but also cross-training with the defensive line throughout training camp.
“Overall, I was very pleased with the things that he was able to do and how he grew throughout the course of the game,” Morris said after practice on Saturday. “Just in his communication, coming to the sideline, whether it was a mistake or whether it was him explaining exactly what he did, if it was right.
“Those guys, I think all that stuff was important when you’re learning players and you’re learning new guys. And for me, it was important to learn from everybody. So it was like, it was great to see our young guys go out there and be able to do that and communicate at a high level.”
