SANTA CLARA — Defensive end Nick Bosa remains sidelined with tendinitis in his surgically repaired knee, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said on Tuesday.Bosa first landed on the 49ers’ injury report on Aug. 5, and he has not taken part in any portion of practice. For the first week of training camp, he was relegated to only individual drills and selected one-on-one matchups.
The 49ers and Tennessee Titans held a joint practice on Tuesday, and Bosa would not have taken part, anyway. And Shanahan said Bosa’s condition is typical.
“Just soreness, tendinitis,” Shanahan said. “It’s a pretty normal thing with ACLs. Talking with our guys (medical staff), it happens with about 90 percent of the guys we’ve had.
“It’s a normal thing so we have to be smart here from week to week. But no concerns about him.”
Bosa, who sustained a torn ACL in Week 3 last season, addressed his physical condition recently with Albert Breer of SI.com, saying it is something he dealt with after sustaining a torn ACL back in high school.
