Brock Purdy ready for all possibilities with 49ers’ receiver addition Mike Evans

SANTA CLARA — The 49ers went big during NFL free agency, and Brock Purdy is ready for it. San Francisco’s most prominent free-agent signing was Mike Evans, who comes to the Bay Area after notching 11 1,000-yard seasons, six Pro Bowl nods and a Super Bowl win in 2020 with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.  The play caller was in Nashville, Tenn., with teammate George Kittle when he found out Evans was going to be their teammate. “I was working out at George’s place and got the news that we just signed Mike Evans, and I was like, ‘You got to be kidding me,’” Purdy said Monday. “Up in George’s weight room, he’s got a Mike Evans jersey, so I was like, ‘Alright, sick. I get to throw to this guy.’” Evans was a big signing in regards to both money and actual size — standing at a full 6-foot-5 — which Purdy sees as a clear advantage.
