The 49ers now have six selections in the 2026 NFL Draft.
On Tuesday, Nick Harris of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reported that the 49ers were among the teams that had reached out to the Cowboys about Odighizuwa.
Strengthening the defensive line was widely viewed as one of the 49ers' top offseason priorities after an inconsistent 2025 season in the trenches.
According to Spotrac, Odighizuwa is scheduled to carry a $16.75 million salary-cap hit in 2026, followed by $20.5 million in both 2027 and 2028.
The Cowboys selected Odighizuwa (6-2, 280) in the third round (75th overall) of the 2021 NFL Draft out of UCLA. During the 2025 season, the defensive lineman appeared in all 17 games and made 13 starts. He recorded 44 tackles and 28 assists while adding 3.5 sacks and 23 quarterback hits, helping anchor the middle of the Cowboys' defensive front.
Odighizuwa earned a 72.1 tackling grade from Pro Football Focus in 2025, along with a 71.5 pass-rush grade, tallying 52 pressures. His pass-rush grade was even higher in 2024 and 2023, at 78.5 and 78.7, respectively—and he recorded 60 pressures in 2024.
Over five NFL seasons, Odighizuwa has appeared in 84 games with 76 starts, totaling 216 tackles, 17 sacks, and 34 tackles for loss. He has also recorded 81 quarterback hits, two forced fumbles, and one pass defensed.
