49ers awarded three fourth-round compensatory picks in upcoming 2026 NFL Draft

The 49ers on Monday were awarded three compensatory 2026 NFL Draft picks for net losses sustained a year ago in free agency.The NFL announced the 49ers will pick up compensatory selections in the fourth rounds at Nos. 133, 138 and 139 overall.The 49ers gained additional draft picks after 2025 free agency saw the team lose Aaron Banks, Joshua Dobbs, Dre Greenlaw, Talanoa Hufanga, Jaylon Moore and Charvarius Ward, while gaining only Luke Farrell, Mac Jones and Demarcus Robinson.The Baltimore Ravens, Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers led the NFL with four compensatory picks gained for the 2026 draft, which takes place April 23-25 in Pittsburgh.The NFL awards compensatory picks at the ends of the third, fourth, fifth, sixth and seventh rounds of the draft.Compensatory picks are determined by a formula based on salary, playing time and postseason honors, according to the NFL.Teams that suffer a net loss of qualifying free agents are eligible to receive a corresponding number of compensatory selections.The 49ers now own seven picks in the 2026 draft:First round – No. 27Second round – No. 58Third round – No. 92Fourth round – No....
