Former 49ers running back Frank Gore, the NFL’s No. 3 all-time leading rusher, was announced Tuesday as a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame Class of 2026.Gore is one of four first-time eligible candidates to advance to the final 15 in the voting process, joining quarterback Drew Brees, wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald and tight end Jason Witten.There is no set number of individuals to be inducted for the Class of 2026. The current bylaws stipulate that four to eight new members shall be elected.Roger Craig, the first member of the 1,000-1,000 club as a running back with the 49ers, was previously announced as a seniors finalist.Quarterback Ken Anderson and defensive lineman L.C. Greenwood join Craig as seniors finalists. Those three will be up against coach Bill Belichick and contributor Robert Kraft.Each voter is allowed to vote for only three of the five seniors, coach and contributor finalists.
