SANTA CLARA — Quarterback Brock Purdy will begin his third consecutive week of limited practice.Purdy is scheduled to take part in limited practice on Wednesday, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said. Purdy will get some practice snaps, Shanahan said.The 49ers were expected to have six players out of practice, as the team began preparations to face the New York Giants on Sunday.Purdy has appeared in only two games this season due to a right toe sprain. He sustained the injury in the 49ers’ Week 1 game against the Seattle Seahawks and aggravated the condition when he returned in Week 4 against the Jacksonville Jaguars.Purdy’s status for the game is uncertain. He last appeared in a game on Sept. 28.Mac Jones has started six games this season in place of Purdy.
