49ers QB Brock Purdy cleared to play, will start in Week 4 game vs. Jaguars

SANTA CLARA — The NFL’s No. 1-ranked passing offense will see the return of their No. 1 quarterback.Brock Purdy, who missed the past two games, has been cleared and will start against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday at Levi’s Stadium, 49ers coach Kyle Shanahan said on Friday.Wide receivers Jauan Jennings and Ricky Pearsall were listed as questionable for the game.Jennings returned to limited practice on Friday. Jennings sat out the 49ers’ Week 3 game against Arizona due to a left ankle sprain. Pearsall, who sat out Wednesday’s practice with a knee injury, appears tracking well toward playing. Pearsall said on Wednesday if the game were that day, he felt as if he would be ready to play.While Purdy has been cleared to return to action, backup quarterback Mac Jones is listed as questionable with a knee injury.The 49ers went 2-0 with Jones at quarterback for victories over the New Orleans Saints and Arizona Cardinals.In those two games, Jones completed 53 of 80 pass attempts for 563 yards with four touchdowns and one interception.
