SANTA CLARA — Christian McCaffrey has been an offensive security blanket for whoever has been under center for the 49ers, and this week it’s likely to be Mac Jones.On Wednesday, as Brock Purdy recovers from shoulder and toe injuries, the All-Pro running back shared that adjusting to a new quarterback under center has a lot to do with the other 10 players on the field.“I think everybody just has to do their job,” McCaffrey said. “And that’s whether Brock is playing or not. It just comes down to everybody executing at a high level and keeping it that simple, not trying to do anything extremely special.
