10 highest-paid NFL QBs: Will 49ers' Brock Purdy top the list next year?

By David Bonilla
Jun 13

It doesn't seem that long ago when the Kansas City Chiefs signed Patrick Mahomes to a jaw-dropping 10-year, $450 million contract. That $45 million annual salary now looks like a bargain for the NFL's best quarterback. Eight quarterbacks now earn more annually than the three-time Super Bowl champion and two-time NFL MVP. Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Trevor Lawrence was the latest player to leap past Mahomes, reportedly signing a five-year extension worth up to $275 million. George Kittle joined the "Dan Patrick Show" this week to discuss the upcoming fourth annual Tight End University gathering and all things San Francisco 49ers. They need to stay in shape and hone their fundamentals during this break to prepare for the rigors of training camp and the upcoming 2024 season. Chicago Bears quarterback Caleb Williams' personal coach, Will Hewlett, revealed that the rookie plans to work with several NFL starting quarterbacks this offseason, including Brock Purdy of the San Francisco 49ers. Hewlett is also Purdy's personal quarterback coach, someone the 49ers player prefers to work with during the offseason. Purdy even trained with Hewlett in Florida last offseason—albeit limited—as he recovered from surgery to repair a torn ulnar collateral ligament (UCL) in his

Why CBS Sports expects 49ers QB Brock Purdy to regress in 2024

By David Bonilla
Jun 13

Garrett Podell of CBS Sports recently assessed the NFL landscape, identifying quarterbacks poised to improve or regress in 2024. San Francisco 49ers quarterback Brock Purdy fell into the latter group, with Podell predicting the third-year player might struggle to match last season's production. Purdy set a single-season franchise record with 4,280 passing yards during his sophomore NFL season, and his 113.0 passer rating led the league. However, Podell believes that level of production might not be sustainable. "Purdy averaged the most yards after catch per completion (6.6) and the most yards per
