© Kyle Terada-USA TODAY Sports We're almost there. This bizarre season, which went in spite of so many signs that, perhaps, it shouldn't, is nearing its end. At least it is for the 49ers, who will welcome this offseason more than most. Kyle Shanahan's New Year's hopes and dreams The 49ers' 41-year-old coach had a [...]

49ers WR Brandon Aiyuk says his son can be anything except a fan of this one team

Wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk's mother is a San Francisco 49ers fan. She was a fan even before her favorite team drafted her son. "My mom has been a huge 49ers fan her whole life," Aiyuk told reporters shortly after being drafted, "so that kind of bled on me a little bit when I was younger." Aiyuk was asked if that fandom stuck with him throughout his childhood. "So, I wouldn't say a fan throughout," he responded. "I just kind of just move with players. But, definitely, when I was younger, I was rolling with the 49ers because of my mom." Aiyuk and his girlfriend, Rochelle, had a son, Braylon, in September. Now that Aiyuk is a father,

What will the San Francisco 49ers do with quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo? The simple answer is that the team will retain his services, should a perceived upgrade not present itself. If a perceived upgrade is acquired, then the team will likely try to shop the quarterback. "Most presume he'll be traded," wrote Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk on Tuesday. "But here's the question: If the 49ers don't want to keep Garoppolo at the balance of his current contract, who would trade for the thing?" The New England Patriots would likely welcome back Garoppolo with open arms — for the right price. They have the cap space to absorb his salary.

According to Pro Football Reference, Fred Warner registered a team-leading and career-high 125 tackles, including five for a loss, in 2020. He added a sack, six passes defensed, two interceptions, and a forced fumble. It was enough to finally earn the San Francisco 49ers linebacker his overdue Pro Bowl and All-Pro nods. Warner has a message for fans and analysts who were impressed by the linebacker's exceptional play — "Stay tuned." Maybe we haven't seen anything yet from the young defensive star. Stay tuned. https://t.co/fTNjunwHG0— Fred Warner

49ers TE George Kittle identifies where he can improve this offseason

By David Bonilla

San Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle can do it all. He excels as both a receiver and a run-blocker, making him the complete package. Still, there is always room for improvement. According to Pro Football Focus, only six of Kittle's 63 targets this past season went for 20-or-more yards. The All-Pro tight end hauled in four of those pass attempts for 131 yards. To his credit, one was determined to be uncatchable, leaving Kittle with just one drop. He would love to create more opportunities as a downfield target, though. Kittle spoke with Chris Simms of NBC Sports last week and was asked what he hopes to work on this offseason to improve his game in 2021. "I would like to get better at the longer-distanced routes, some longer-distanced third-down
