The San Francisco 49ers have officially activated three players — cornerback Richard Sherman and running backs Raheem Mostert and Jeff Wilson Jr. — from injured reserve. The move potentially gives the team a boost headed into the backend of its schedule.
The 49ers also announced the following roster moves:
- LT Trent Williams and LB Joe Walker have been activated from the reserve/COVID-19 list
- DL Alex Barrett has been activated from the practice squad (standard elevation)
- OL Tony Bergstrom, DL Darrion Daniels, and DL Willie Henry Jr. have been activated from the practice squad (COVID-19 replacement)
Sherman has been on injured reserve since September 16 due to a calf injury. He appeared in one game — a Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals — this season.
Mostert landed on injured reserve with a high-ankle sprain on October 24. Wilson later suffered the same injury as Mostert and landed on IR a week after Mostert.
Running back JaMycal Hasty landed on injured reserve with a broken collarbone on November 17, and Tevin Coleman has been ruled out of Sunday's game due to a knee injury.
Mostert's 303 rushing yards still lead the team despite the running back having played in just four games this season.
The 49ers announced that both Williams and Walker are now listed as "questionable" to play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Their activation leaves the following four players still on the reserve/COVID-19 list, and unavailable for the game.
Aiyuk and Helm have been on the reserve/COVID-19 list since November 20 while Jones and Willis have been since November 23.
