Fred Warner identifies areas he can improve in 49ers’ final six games

"I'm happy for you, man. I really mean that,"
Rodgers told Warner after the two teams met during Week 9. "Unfortunately, name recognition means too much. Ain't nobody better. There really isn't. You're the best, and everybody knows it. The film don't lie. You should be All-Pro."
The hardworking San Francisco 49ers linebacker is always looking to get better, though. He spoke with reporters before Wednesday's practice and was asked to identify areas of self-improvement over the team's final six games of the season.

"I feel like I've just got to do a great job of taking care of my body," Warner responded. "I felt just a little out of it this past game, wasn't able to play to the best of my ability, and that's completely on me. I feel like I've got to give it all for my team, and that's what I'm capable and willing to do for the rest of this season."
Warner has a team-leading 79 tackles, four tackles for a loss, three quarterback hits, and three passes defensed through 10 game appearances.
"I'm looking forward to improving on all facets of my game," Warner continued. "Tackling, making sure I'm being a sure tackler and knocking guys back, getting takeaways when I can, making sure I'm taking advantage of those opportunities when they present themselves, and just being a leader for this football team, regardless of the situation. Making sure I'm steady in my preparation and the way I come to work every day.
"And as long as I do those things, I think I'll be alright."

According to Sports Illustrated contributor Noah Strackbein, who writes for "All Steelers" on the network, there's a level of confidence within the Pittsburgh Steelers organization that they can strike a deal for San Francisco 49ers wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk—and at a bargain rate.
"According to a team source, the Steelers and 49ers trade talks are real," Strackbein wrote. "While nothing is imminent, they 'would be surprised if it didn't happen.' But it all comes down to compensation, and Pittsburgh isn't willing to budge much on price."
