49ers’ Joe Staley hopes to return to practice this week

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley, sidelined since September 15 with a broken left fibula, hopes to rejoin practice Wednesday and has an "outside chance" to play Sunday against Carolina, according to head coach Kyle Shanahan.
