Two San Francisco 49ers players were named to their first NFL All-Pro team. One is third-year wide receiver Deebo Samuel, one of the most dynamic players in the game. The second is the team's nine-time Pro Bowl offensive tackle, Trent Williams. Both were first-team selections. Until now, Williams, a first-round draft pick in 2010, has gone his entire career without being named to an All-Pro team, which may be difficult to believe. On Thursday, a reporter asked the veteran tackle what it would mean to finally be named an All-Pro. "I think it would feel good, finally," Williams responded. "It sucks because I can't let it define my career because I've never made it. If I felt like that's what I needed to define my career, then anything I've done up to

Which 49ers Team Will Show Up on Sunday?

By Bill Brown

When the 49ers clash with the Cowboys on Sunday, it should be a barroom brawl any frontiersman could tip his hat to. The 49ers have the talent and the passion to produce a win on Sunday. Still, many questions remain: Will Trent Williams really be able to play? Will Jimmy Garoppolo plow through the game with an injured thumb again this week? Will the 49ers shed their tendency toward injury for just long enough to broach a deep run into the playoffs, starting with a win over the Cowboys? Although these are all great questions, here's an even better one: Which 49ers team will show up to duke it out against a hot Cowboys team? There's a right answer to this question and, of course, a

Week 3's matchup between the San Francisco 49ers and Green Bay Packers was a heartbreaker for The Faithful. The fans at Levi's Stadium watched Jimmy Garoppolo engineer a thrilling comeback touchdown drive to take the lead, only to watch Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers crush their hopes with a game-winning drive in the closing seconds. A lot has changed since that 30-28 defeat. That kicked off a four-game losing streak for the 49ers. However, San Francisco finished the season strong and made the playoffs in the final week of the regular season. Green Bay muscled its way to the No. 1 seed in the NFC. Now, we get to watch the two teams go head-to-head again, this time for the right to advance to the NFC Championship Game. "I don't think they look much

Steve Young credits great coaching, Deebo Samuel for 49ers' turnaround, believes team can win it all

Things didn't look so hot for the San Francisco 49ers in October. The team was coming off a four-game losing streak, and their lofty postseason hopes looked more like wishful thinking. Then the season turned around. The Niners went on a run, and in the final week of the regular season, clinched a playoff berth. That run, paired with the upset win against the NFC East champion Dallas Cowboys in the opening round of the playoffs, has given the 49ers a lot of confidence. The team believes it can beat anyone. However, the next task isn't an easy one. San Francisco will have to knock off the Green Bay Packers this weekend at Lambeau Field if it hopes to reach the NFC Championship Game for the second time in three seasons. Hall of Fame quarterback Steve Young wouldn't
