On the heels of a season-opening loss, the 49ers got exactly what they needed: The Lions in the Bay Area. On Sunday, the 49ers held on to beat Detroit 30-27 to extend their home winning streak against the Lions to 13 games dating back 43 years. In the latest edition, the 49ers took a 30-13 lead early in the fourth quarter before Detroit responded with two drives capped by touchdown passes from Matthew Stafford in a five-minute span. After Stafford's 15-yard toss to tight end Michael Roberts, the 49ers were clinging to a three-point lead with 3:33 left. And then the 49ers nearly completely fell apart.
