With their primary backup offensive tackle, Garry Gilliam, still in the concussion protocol after he was injured in the preseason opener Aug. 9, the 49ers traded a 2019 seventh-round pick to the Browns today for offensive tackle Shon Coleman. The 49ers made the move as they waived offensive tackles Darrell Williams Jr. and Pace Murphy, along with 10 other players, before Saturday's deadline to cut to 53 players. The trade for Coleman suggests the return of Gilliam, 27, who signed a two-year extension in February, is not imminent. Coleman, a 2015 third-round pick from Auburn, made all 16 of his career starts at right tackle last year for Cleveland.
