In the middle of the draft, the 49ers drafted a new contract for strong safety Jaquiski Tartt. On Friday, the 49ers signed Tartt to a two-year contract extension through 2020. The two-year extension is worth $13 million, and has a maximum value of $15 million, the NFL Network reported. Tartt, 26, is a 2015 second-round pick who has earned the trust of the new regime. Since head coach Kyle Shanahan and general manager John Lynch were hired, they've shed the roster of 22 of the 31 draft picks made by former GM Trent Baalke that they inherited. "Since we arrived last year, Jaquiski has impressed us with his play, his work ethic and the kind of teammate he is," Lynch said.
