The big man won't get the big money. At least not yet. On Wednesday, 49ers general manager John Lynch told local reporters that a contract extension isn't imminent for massive right tackle Trent Brown, who is entering the final year of his contract. Brown is scheduled to earn a $705,000 base salary this season. "I think there's more pressing things right now," Lynch said at the NFL combine in Indianapolis. "That's not to say that that couldn't happen in the future, but right now there's some other things that are more pressing. We still have Trent for another year under contract. We're pleased to have him.
