The 49ers have signed reserve offensive tackle Garry Gilliam to a two-year contract extension after his first season with the team ended prematurely because of a knee injury. Gilliam, 27, was injured while making his only start in 30-10 loss to the Eagles on Oct. 29. Gilliam, who sustained a severely sprained MCL ligament, signed with the 49ers last year after making 30 starts in his first three NFL seasons with the Seahawks. Gilliam joins quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo, center Daniel Kilgore and defensive end Cassius Marsh as players who have signed extensions prior to the start of free agency on March 14.
