Five players the 49ers may target in free agency

Disclaimer: I have no idea if the 49ers will sign any of these players. Some free agents with offers from a few teams may not sign with the Niners unless Jimmy Garoppolo commits to the franchise long term. Regardless, these are five players I think the Niners will target and try hard to sign. 1. Justin Pugh, OG, New York Giants. Twenty-seven-year-old former first-round pick and one of the best left...

Insiders identify late risers who 49ers could target in NFL Draft
By David Bonilla
Apr 19
With the 2024 NFL Draft less than a week away, ESPN contributors have highlighted some prospects who have seen their draft stock rise throughout the evaluation process. Jordan Reid and Matt Miller pinpointed players who could hear their names called at the end of the first round.
Interestingly, both of the prospects identified by Reid and Miller play in the trenches but on different sides of the ball. The San Francisco 49ers are widely expected to draft an offensive lineman with their first selection—No. 31 overall. The team mostly ignored the group in free agency. However, it wouldn't surprise many people if the

With the 2024 NFL Draft now concluded, San Francisco 49ers general manager John Lynch and head coach Kyle Shanahan have turned their attention to signing undrafted free agents.
Despite their potential talent, these players were not selected by any team during the draft process. Teams then have the opportunity to sign them to contracts, typically for minimal salaries. For undrafted players, signing with a team is their entryway to the NFL. Some undrafted free agents go on to have successful NFL careers, often exceeding expectations, making the process an essential step in the offseason.
Below is a running tally of the undrafted players the team has either signed or reportedly
7-round mock draft has 49ers adding 2 legacy players

Trevor Sikkema of Pro Football Focus unveiled a seven-round mock draft for the San Francisco 49ers, addressing several key needs for the team in the 10-pick projection. Interestingly, the mock draft sees the team adding two legacy players. But before delving into that, let's examine the first three selections.
Sikkema has the 49ers shoring up their offensive line at pick No. 31 with the selection of former Arizona offensive tackle Jordan Morgan.
Morgan allowed 14 pressures and two sacks in his 477 pass-blocking snaps at left tackle in 2023. He earned an impressive pass-blocking grade of 87.3 and an overall grade of
49ers draft eight players: Rapid reactions

The San Francisco 49ers have completed their 2024 draft. They were able to fill some holes and grab some players who have a chance to make an impact. And there appeared to be a theme throughout the draft.
The 49ers selected players who have played a lot of college football, so some of them should be ready to go sooner rather than later. They also went after guys who have stayed on the field, meaning they seem to be staying away from players with injury histories. It's hard to blame them for that.
Perhaps the most shocking part of the 49ers draft is that they didn't take a defensive lineman. I thought they would draft a run-stuffing defensive tackle, and also an edge rusher. But they didn't.
Here are my rapid reactions—my quick observations
