GLENDALE, Ariz. — Four days after 49ers linebacker Elvis Dumervil told reporters that sacks tend to come in bunches, the 11th-year veteran proved prophetic. After opening his tenure with the 49ers by not posting a sack for three games and three-plus quarters, Dumervil produced two sacks in a 98-second stretch of the fourth quarter in an 18-15 overtime loss at Arizona on Sunday. Dumervil's first sack of Arizona's Carson Palmer was also the 100th of his career. Dumervil, 5-foot-11, became the 32nd player to record 100 sacks since they became an official statistic in 1982, and the first player to do so under 6-1. He is 29th on the all-time list with 101, passing a group that included Charles Haley (100.5).
