49ers sign three tryout rookies; release RB Harris, WR Cannon The 49ers have signed three players who were invited to last week's rookie minicamp on a tryout basis and released running back DuJuan Harris and two rookie free agents they signed after the draft to make room on their 90-man roster. The 49ers signed Boise State safety Chanceller James, Georgia Southern wide receiver BJ Johnson III and Connecticut offensive tackle Richard Levy. In addition to Harris, they released Baylor wide receiver KD Cannon and offensive lineman Bret Treadway.
