http://www.foxsports.com/mlb/story/will-ferrell-honors-tony-gwynn-san-diego-padres-no-19-wears-20-instead-spring-training-031315?0000
"MLB tells us it was Will's choice. He chose not to wear 19 out of respect for Tony."
John Madden not getting it, maybe he didn't realize it was only very brief appearances in each game and that it was for charity...

"I hate it," Madden said. "That's a lack of respect. That's a lack of respect for the game and a [lack of] respect for what players have to do to get where they are."

I wonder if that will lead to Dalton Pompey getting the leg up on the starting spot?

He will be in a couple of weeks. Obviously this is not like Moncada as Olivera is likely to step right in as the Dodgers 3B. Juan Uribe's days as the starting 3B are over me thinks.
