You guys should take WCS. He's the best defensive prospect in years, and probably the best pick & roll defending big that I've ever seen in college. On offense, he's basically Tyson Chandler, which is fine considering that you have Cousins. Winslow's a good player, but it's a lot harder to find guys like WCS.

Porzingis would be interesting too, but I think he goes to Orlando at #5.

I disagree with this Pete. WCS might be a safe pick but Winslow has the bigger upside and the greater chance to be an All Star in my opinion.

I actually really like Winslow as well, its just we already have Rudy and Casspi

I dont think you are going to pass on a great prospect though because of Gay or Casspi. Actually, I would try my best to move Rudy.

right but moving Rudy would further piss of Cousins and mess our chemistry up. This team just hasn't had a solid core together for any time.
btw guys, Landry is out 4-5 months with another injury. What a joke

That chemistry has put them in the lottery every year. I wouldnt worry too much about that.

Ya, if you think Winslow's the better player, you take him. I just don't think he is. WCS is one of the best defensive prospects I've ever seen. I think he's the 4th best player in the draft behind Towns/Okafor/Russell. My only concern with him is that there have been reports that question his love of basketball, which he has vehemently denied. That should obviously be given an extremely hard look, and as a fan we have no way of answering that. But if that's not an issue, he's a monster on defense, and can play the Tyson Chandler/DeAndre Jordan role on offense. I've never seen a guy his size capable of defending on the perimeter the way he does. He's gonna single-handedly blow up pick & rolls, which is a huge asset to have.

You may be right but I have never been that impressed by WCS. I guess with the 6th pick I want a guy who will become an All Star with top end potential and not just a defensive specialist. Now, if he is as good as Jordan then he would be a good pick obviously. I just am not as sold as you are on him. Honestly, I was more impressed with the upside of Trey Lyles from that Kentucky team (although I'm sure I would be in the vast minority on this).

Pete doesn't look like a guy who's about to bail for St. Johns.
Pete didn't get a chance to do his job IMO. Dude didn't get to hire a coach, have enough time to build a roster on his own and there were always too many chefs in the kitchen. To top it off, he has an owner who overruled him on draft day (its been pretty well documented that he wanted Elfrid Payton but Vivek wanted Staukaus because he was enamored with him making a hundred 3s in a row or some crap). The guy didn't get a real chance to GM. Now Vlade is above him. Odd business structure the team has. If I was him, I would want to bail. They basically demoted/embarrassed him by signing Vlade to be "the man."

Not sure if he would have done a good job if he got a fair shake, but I'm not judging him at all based on this experiment.

Yeah, i am not sure how manyof these problems are due to PDA's incompetence, or the fact that Vivek is a meddling owner who thinks he knows everything and PDA is just his puppet who takes the brunt of the criticism. You have all these contradictory stories coming out (i.e. FO wanting Payton and management wanting Stauskus, Mullin/PDA wanting to fire Malone vs. Vivek wanting to fire Malone, etc)...so who knows...but folks are def trying to cover their asses.
If PDA was the person who signed Landry to that contract and traded away Robin Lopez, then PDA is an incompetent idiot. However, Vivek isn't far behind him.....

Well said. That's the key...we've all been following this team closely since Vivek took over. I still don't know for sure who has orchestrated the moves, picks, firings, etc. So many conflicting reports; either way, it's not good. For that, he deserves a pass.

If you're judging on player/personnel moves since PDA has come on board, I think he's missed far too many times. He should lose his job for the Landry signing alone; such a waste of money especially with JT, and at the time Patterson, already on the team. Letting Isaiah go, the firing of Malone, the Stauskas pick looking questionable...those are black marks.

The Rudy trade was a great gamble for a team like ours, and his Ben/Ray draft was solid. Other than that, not much else to hang his hat on.

I loved Patterson, wish we still had him

Patterson sucked for us. Dude could not shoot. He did go straight to the Raptors and start shooting though lol.

He shot well that first year with us and then sucked before the trade to Toronto.

Point was...signing a mediocre PF to a substantial deal with two mediocre PF's on the roster already (and two more coming soon in R.Evans and D-Will) was really dumb.
