This isn't basketball doe . In 2011 with one good draft and some players emerging we could of won two SBs.
and because we didn't have ANOTHER good draft; we fell back into the Poo for the next 5 years.

We all know it wasn't purely based on the drafts on why we went down hill. Anyhoot, I'm more than okay with destiny deciding this years outcome

Lets follow through on a long term plan with high draft choices not short term success.

We saw how that worked in 2011 as the bounce back effect actually sent us back to the stoneage in a lot of pain.

My dude we have an extra second and third round picks! We got amo to have hopefully what looks like a very promising draft.
Remember brick by brick? Way too much happens in football where you're planning a tank. Getting better and building your team win by win is what ultimately takes you to super bowl. Let's get back to winning this division. We swept the Rams last year and the Cawks barely beat us in their house with the trash of circumstances we had going on lol. Let's smack Carolina in the mouths week one and put the league on notice the new brand of 49ers football is not one to be taken lightly and we're here to take back what's ours and that starts with the division.

Two wins would assure us a franchise QB in next years draft!

Just sayin

Agree, we should tank the season.

It is the difference between the 2022 49ers being successful or not.

I hope we don't beat the spread.

You guys are trippin lol. This isn't madden franchise mode. We'll talk week 8-10 if we're even smelling tanking. The NFC west isn't what it was 4 years ago.

I agree, if our current coaching staff is really better than the two previous coaches, then they should *win* more games than either of those two previous coaches. If they dont, after a draft like we've just had, we have much more problems than just getting a franchise QB of the future.
this will take more than a year to fix.

the gun to the head coaching carousal is not working also.

That was after years and years of accumulating high draft picks and hitting on several draft picks and free agents. We aren't even close to having 5-6 All-Pro players on our roster. Maybe Buckner or Thomas get there a few years from now if we're lucky, but we're a long ways off where we were in 2011.

We had 9 Pro Bowlers in 2011 and 9 in 2012 including 7 starters in 2012 (Iupati, Staley, Willis, Aldon Smith, Justin Smith, Goldson, and Whitner with Bowman and Gore as backups).

We may have 2-3 in 2017 (Juszczyk and maybe Hyde/Bowman if one of them can stay healthy). This team is headed in the right direction, but it's nowhere near as talented as the 2011 roster. There's a reason the front office wasn't in a rush to spend this offseason - if we were a playoff caliber team, we wouldn't be sitting on $70+ million of cap space right now with so many holes on our roster

In other words keep drafting and the higher our draft picks the more likely we will have success especially as we still need that Franchise QB and band leader on offence.

Exactly.

The next draft will define the 49ers next 12 years performance.

It wasn't because of our draft position, I promise!
no it was due to very bad drafting.

but a better draft position does help you have the opportunity to make better draft decisions.

because you have more collateral

Especially if we agree that John Lynch knows his sh*t..

>4.5 is starting to seem doable now
