Do you Have Faith in Chip Kelly's Offense?

I don't know. He lost a lot of talent each of those years in PHI and has no talent in SF.

We need to draft strictly for athletic ability next year. Primarily, speed and size. That's all Kelly needs.
Why do you think that?

Because his offense is all about hand-offs and long pitches to the RB's and WR's. Get guys who don't pass the conceptual knowledge test but are freaks when you give them the ball. Raw athletic talent can easily be had between the 2nd and 4th rounds. That's what Baalke did in our 2016 draft but he went with DB's.

Boom this is it right here. Nothing more to say or add. We don't have wr's or te's that can catch. And a good QB would be awesome too

I think the O-Line and Carlos are more than capable, but better players a Qb and better reciever for sure.

long pitches? Kelly seems to be a WCO guy. Being athletic is not a necessity in this system, imho.
Baalke was going for more athletic DBs due to system switch on defensive side of the ball, yes.

Kelly runs an offense that relies on precision and consistent execution. Raw athletic freaks won't get it done. At WR you need guys that are precise route runners, that can beat the defensive back to the spot simply by executing. At QB you need someone that can be consistently accurate from 10-20 yards out.

If you're going to run a basic system of plays, you need people that can execute at a high level. That is what the Colts did. They didn't any freaks in particular but they had some of the top route runners in football and they had Peyton Manning at QB to get the ball off quickly and accurately.

so then why hire a chef with a reputation of doing so, instead of hiring, lets say, you or me for a fraction of the cost ?

If you use cheap ingredients you get a s**tty meal.

This. Kelly's offense is largely the WCO on amphetamines. Most of the passing is in the intermediate area but he has also shown the ability to run a vertical passing offense ala Pittsburgh.

This - Big Time!
what system DOESNT do well with a franchise QB and a bunch of talent and speed?

Lol. Exactly. If you don't have this, you better have some great schemes and in-game play calling!
What contract does Chip have with us? 5 years I think? I hope we give him at least 60% of that, draft and acquire through FA the tools he needs to execute his offense over that time and hopefully that results in the inverse of his 3 years in Philly.

Put it this way...guys are getting open despite not being very good. We just have to make the throws and make the plays on the ball.

When the QB is throwing below 60% accuracy despite pass protection being pretty good that's not an issue in playcalling. Compared to last year this is night and day IMO.
Yes.....in 2018 when we actually have talent!

Still too early to tell and probably needs better players.

If your QB cannot even execute a hank concept play properly, you won't do s**t with any great scheme in the world.
