What was the one position you could say we were "great" at?

Wow this is gonna suck but I'm gonna say punting
LB & punter are solid. RB is as well.

DL isn't shabby. Depends on what happens with Franklin.
Patrick Willis and Andy Lee are the only players on the 49ers that are "great."

Vernon Davis is very close to being "great."

Frank Gore is very good.

That should pretty much be everyone's response.

Considering we've had year after year of high draft picks, this is really sad!

I agree with you though for the most part.

I think Justin Smith should also be added.

Our Defensive Line has been as good as any 3-4 DL the last three years. Justin Smith lead our team in sacks and the rest of the DL have done a good job for Spikes/Willis to rack up solid tackling stats.

This is probably why Harbaugh didnot argue with the Yorks when they said they like to keep Tomsula.

If our Outside Linebackers had more sacks then Linebackers would have been the best group by far.

VD is great, he's already proved it. 13TDs in one year = great. He was already known for his blocking. If he has a decent length of career producing at a similar level and wins a Super Bowl. Canton.

Our DL is allot better than what people think. In a 3-4 the 3 DL are meant to occupy blockers... which they do exceptionally as shown by our run defense statistics. Sacks in a 3-4 come from the OLB, yet J. Smith has also shown up as one of the leaders in that category. I forgot whether it was on the NFL channel or maybe Sando's blog but I think the niners have one of the longer streaks in the league of not giving up a 100 yard rusher. Franklin most likely wont be back, but I wouldnt count out RJF or ICE steppin up and being decent as a NT. Remember Franklin was all that reliable until they switched his gap responsibilities.
