Hmmm don't think Parker is playing. Still out with that foot injury

It would be good to see him on the field. With Crabtree moving on in free agency (IMO), WR will be our biggest need again in next year's draft.

Disagree. Think five tech or CB will be our biggest need. We still have a bunch or good receivers to fill in for crabs.
Niners had scouts in the box at Clemson today. Vic Beasley and defensive front put up a goose egg on NCST, who put up 40+ on FSU last week. Beasley had a fumble return for a TD where he stripped the QB and grabbed the ball out of the air in one motion. He tied Michael Dean Perry and Gaines Adams for most sacks in Clemson career. He will obviously own that record barring injuries.

While Vic Beasley is the sexy name for Clemson, guys like DT Grady Jarrett, DE Corey Crawford, and ILB Stephone Anthony can't be slept on. Jarrett and Coleman could be early round guys, while Anthony is a late round guy right now.

Yeah, the front seven is super deep and talented. I think Anthony could easily be an early round guy by end of season. He almost went pro last year and got feedback that he was a midrounder.

I feel good about our CB depth. We get Acker and Reaser back next year. Reaser was a GOOD college CB, and Acker was surprisingly good. Dontae Johnson will be a starter someday.

Dial will be a very good 5 tech. Carradine is gonna be like Ray Mac: no production while he learns 3-4 rules/techniques, then he signs a new deal and blows up as a stud (IMO).

Speed and size at WR is needed, IMO.

Questions about the WRs:

1) I see everywhere from 4.3 to 4.55 for Parker's 40 time. He looks pretty fast and explosive, so what's the story?

2) Coates does not look like a 4.3 guy when he runs his routes to me. With the ball in the air or in his hands, his speed seems elite. He looks tough and strong, but I'm not seeing a bunch of down field separation, until after the ball is thrown. I'm not sure Kap would throw those balls. Am I the only one seeing this? Is it scheme?

I like that he blocks aggressively, but his hands and his success rate on contested balls worries me as well. I haven't seen all of his games, but it looks like he goes up pretty passively for contested balls. Is he really a top of the first round guy at this point? Could he cause another size/speed guy to fall to us?

I just want a consistent deep threat

Louisville Feels The Need For Speed

Under new strength and conditioning coach Joe Miday, the emphasis has focused on speed and power.

There have been immediate results in just a few short months. Receiver DeVante Parker, already blessed with terrific size and strength, clocked 4.34 seconds in the 40-yard dash -- the fastest time he has ever posted. The number surprised many observers, perhaps because Parker was never truly unleashed in the run-first offense Strong employed. Parker said his time is a direct result of the new strength staff.

"Oh yeah, I am a lot faster now than I used to be," Parker said. In detailing the reasons, he said, "The new staff likes to work on what you need to work on so you can improve, and it will show during the game. Last year, it was more on your body than it is now. Now, they want you to be fast, too. Last year, they just wanted us to be bulky -- we didn't really work on speed. But now we do and it's a big advantage for us."

Not sure where the 4.55 is coming from though. I think he always looked faster than that. Somewhere around 4.40 - 4.44.
