San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals (-5)

Why SF Wins: Perhaps the change from Nick Mullens to C.J. Beathard will give the 49ers the shot in the arm that they desperately needed. Although it's unclear what Shanahan is thinking, apparently there is a good chance that TE George Kittle will play in this game as well. A few fresh faces spark the offense, while the sturdy defense returns and the 49ers remember to cover WR DeAndre Hopkins.

Why SF Loses: Arizona is a better football team. The 49ers coaches are struggling and C.J. Beathard is the 49ers' new hope at the quarterback position. None of this adds up to a 49ers victory. Arizona has everything to play for, and the 49ers are just praying for no more injuries.

Prediction: The 49ers pull off a Christmas miracle and gift their fans with a surprise win. Ho Ho Ho Faithful. Merry Christmas! 49ers 28 - Cardinals 20

49ers and WR Brandon Aiyuk reportedly not close on a new contract

By Marc Adams
May 19

The San Francisco 49ers need wide receiver Brandon Aiyuk. And Aiyuk needs the 49ers. But the two sides are reportedly not close on a new deal that would keep the star receiver in San Francisco for years to come. Sunday morning, on SportsCenter, ESPN's Jeremy Fowler reported that the 49ers and Aiyuk are not close in contract negotiations, leading many to wonder if Aiyuk will hold out (not show up) or hold in (show up but not participate) for the remainder of the offseason and even training camp. "This one's tricky because he was implicated in some trade talks around the draft," Fowler said. "He wants a new contract; has one year left. I'm told the 49ers certainly are open to doing a deal, but talks have not progressed enough where things are close. And

By David Bonilla

Nick Bosa is probably looking forward to the day when reporters stop asking him about the San Francisco 49ers' recent Super Bowl loss. Unfortunately for him, that day wasn't today. The star pass rusher answered questions from the media after the team's Tuesday afternoon practice session and was asked about his feelings regarding the game now that he's more than three months removed from it. "With the Super Bowl, unfortunately, I know how to bounce back from tough losses," Bosa said. "It was rough for a little bit, but now it's just annoying when people bring it up." Bosa stared at the reporter who asked the question, then smiled and

Here is everything they had to say. Transcripts provided by the San Francisco 49ers Communications staff. Head Coach Kyle Shanahan How long after seeing the schedule release did you learn about your rest differential disadvantage for this coming season? "You mean with the bye weeks? Before I came in here. I promise I didn't really think about it. And he gave me some questions before, he said we have four of them coming off a bye. I was like, 'isn't that what we had last year?' So maybe we had less, I don't know what we had last
