San Francisco 49ers vs. Arizona Cardinals (-5)
Why SF Wins: Perhaps the change from Nick Mullens to C.J. Beathard will give the 49ers the shot in the arm that they desperately needed. Although it's unclear what Shanahan is thinking, apparently there is a good chance that TE
George Kittle will play in this game as well. A few fresh faces spark the offense, while the sturdy defense returns and the 49ers remember to cover WR DeAndre Hopkins.
Why SF Loses: Arizona is a better football team. The 49ers coaches are struggling and C.J. Beathard is the 49ers' new hope at the quarterback position. None of this adds up to a 49ers victory. Arizona has everything to play for, and the 49ers are just praying for no more injuries.
Prediction: The 49ers pull off a Christmas miracle and gift their fans with a surprise win. Ho Ho Ho Faithful. Merry Christmas!
49ers 28 - Cardinals 20

PFF ranks 49ers' Nick Bosa as the best of the NFL's young rising stars
By Rohan Chakravarthi

Pro Football Focus (PFF) did their annual ranking of the top 25 players under 25 entering the season, compiling a list of the many young stars that have taken over football in the past few years.
With the criteria being "under 25," several players graduated from PFF's rankings last year, including 49ers' star linebacker Fred Warner, who came in as the best player under 25 on PFF's list in 2021, which was ahead of Baltimore Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, then-Tennessee Titans receiver A.J. Brown, and San Francisco's own Nick Bosa, who slotted in at two, three, and four, respectively on the list.
In their 2022 version, PFF ranked Bosa as their best player under 25 in 2022, ahead of quarterback Justin Herbert, running back Jonathan Taylor, and most notably,
49ers' George Kittle: 'Trent Williams is the best football player in the NFL'
Trent Williams' 97.8 overall Pro Football Focus grade from the 2021 regular season led the NFL. In fact, it was the highest-ever grade awarded by the analytics site. Now, some will criticize the grade, arguing that you can't consider an offensive tackle the best player in the league.
Don't tell that to All-Pro tight end George Kittle, Williams' San Francisco 49ers teammate.
"Trent Williams is the best football player in the NFL," Kittle declared Friday on The Pat McAfee Show (h/t NBC Sports Bay Area). "I don't care. You could talk to me about any
Jerry Rice says Trey Lance 'has all the tools' to succeed with 49ers
Chris Simms lacks confidence in San Francisco 49ers quarterback Trey Lance. The NBC Sports analyst recently stated that he wouldn't have drafted the player had the decision been his to make.
"I see the potential. I get it," Simms recently said on his podcast, Chris Simms Unbuttoned. "I'm just not sure it's going to all come together."
Hall of Fame wide receiver Jerry Rice is less pessimistic about the second-year quarterback's future. The 49ers legend sat down with Lance and discussed the 22-year-old's potential to be great and lead the Bay Area team to success.
"I knew Trey was going to be special from the first day I talked to him," Rice said during an interview for Boardroom (h/t
49ers Notebook: Brock Purdy's draft surprise, Tariq Castro-Fields on his NFL readiness, and more
Rookie minicamp gets underway Friday for 49ers drafted players and undrafted free agents, but before those players take the field, they were hit with a number of questions from reporters during pre-camp media sessions on Thursday.
Among the players to speak with reporters on Thursday were wide receiver and third-round pick Danny Gray (SMU), offensive lineman and fourth-round pick Spencer Burford (UT-San Antonio), cornerback and sixth-round pick Tariq Castro-Fields (Penn State), quarterback and seventh-round pick Brock Purdy (Iowa State), and undrafted offensive linemen Jason Poe (Mercer) and Dohnovan West (Arizona State). 49ers WebZone already discussed what Gray said
