According to the NFL transaction wire, the San Francisco 49ers hosted former Dallas Cowboys offensive lineman Robert Jones, an unrestricted free agent.
Jones (6-4, 322) signed a one-year, $4.75 million deal with the Cowboys last year, but did not play during the 2025 season after suffering a broken bone in his neck during training camp, landing on injured reserve.
In 2024, while with the Miami Dolphins, Jones played at left guard, a position that the 49ers have yet to settle this offseason. Spencer Burford left in free agency, signing with the Las Vegas Raiders, while Ben Bartch remains a free agent.
The Dolphins signed Jones as an undrafted free agent out of Middle Tennessee in 2021, spending his first four NFL seasons with Miami.
Over four active NFL seasons, Jones has appeared in 49 games and made 30 starts. He has played a total of 2,025 offensive snaps, with the majority of his experience coming at left guard, and has been credited with one career fumble recovery.
