49ers trade 2nd rounder to Colts for ‘08 first round pick

Apparently the 49ers have made another trade to get back into the first round of the 2008 NFL Draft. This time trading away their 42nd pick to the Colts for the Colts' 4th round selection (No. 126) and their 2008 first round pick according to NFL.com.

The 49ers had traded their first round pick next year to draft OT Joe Thomas.

There is a rumor from Cecil Lammey of The Fan 104.3 and Football Guys that the New York Jets turned down a first-round pick offered by the San Francisco 49ers earlier this offseason for quarterback Sam Darnold (h/t to Matt Audilet of The Spun). Of course, this was when the Niners sat at No. 12 overall, before trading up last month to the No. 3 spot. What on Earth would keep Joe Douglas and company from jumping at an offer like that? 2021 Draft Prediction: 49ers Trade Up for a RB in Round 1 or 2

Let's be honest, we can use a breather from debating about the No. 3 overall pick (#FieldsAt3). Hear me out before you dismiss my prediction with "any undrafted running back can thrive in Shanahan's system".
