Earlier today, it was reported that the San Francisco 49ers were among the teams that met with Michigan State QB Connor Cook at the Spartans' pro day. 49ers regional scout Steve Rubio and outside linebackers coach Jason Tarver were scheduled to represent team at the pro day today while much of the remainder of San Francisco's staff, including head coach Chip Kelly, was in attendance at San Jose State's pro day.

Charean Williams of the Fort Worth Star-Telegram reports that, according to Cook himself, the 49ers, along with the Dallas Cowboys and Miami Dolphins, will have private workouts with the former Spartan quarterback.

"Cook told reporters he will have private workouts in East Lansing with the 49ers, Cowboys and Dolphins," confirms Eric Branch of the San Francisco Chronicle.

While Kelly stated today that he has been communicating with 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick, a trade is still a possibility. Regardless of how that plays out, San Francisco may still be in the market for a quarterback of the future.

The 6-foot-4 Cook completed 57.5 percent of his passes for 9,194 yards, 71 touchdowns, and 22 interceptions over his college career for the Spartans. He is the 2015 Johnny Unitas Golden Arm Award winner, was First-team All-Big Ten and Big Ten QB of The Year last year, and came in ninth place in Heisman Trophy voting.

Cook has won the Big Ten Championship twice (2013, 2015), earning the MVP award in each of those games, and led his team to a 2014 Rose Bowl championship, where he was also the MVP, and a 2015 Cotton Bowl championship.
