49ers awarded four compensatory picks for 2015 offseason losses

The San Francisco 49ers announced today that they have been awarded four compensatory picks in next month's NFL Draft. These picks are for the free agent losses of Chris Culliver, Perrish Cox, Frank Gore and Dan Skuta.

The additional selections bring the 49ers total up to 12 overall picks. The following are the picks that were awarded to San Francisco.

4th round (No. 133)
5th round (No. 174)
6th round (No. 211)
6th round (No. 213)


These picks cannot be traded. However, starting next year, teams will be able to trade compensatory selections.

Christian McCaffrey won't practice Wednesday as 49ers prepare for Dolphins

San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey played through some knee irritation on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. While Kyle Shanahan didn't sound too concerned about the injury after the game, the 49ers coach said his running back would miss the first practice of the week as the team prepares to host the Miami Dolphins at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. "He just felt something in it (during the game), some irritation," Shanahan told reporters before Wednesday's practice. The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 13 contest against the Miami Dolphins on Sunday at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Christian McCaffrey didn't practice. The running back worked through some knee irritation on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Head coach Kyle Shanahan wasn't sure if the situation would keep McCaffrey from playing this weekend. "It's keeping him from [practicing] today, so I hope not," Shanahan told reporters. Defensive end Charles Omenihu is also dealing with a knee issue and did not practice.
