Colin Kaepernick: ‘I’m not out of breath’

Benched San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick spoke to the media today and responded to head coach Jim Tomsula saying, "I want Colin to step back and breath."

Cam Inman of The Mercury News posted the following video on Twitter of Kaepernick's response to what Tomsula had to say.


QB Blaine Gabbert will get the start for the 49ers on Sunday when they face the Atlanta Falcons at Levi's Stadium.

Given what happened over the first half of 2021 and how he responded to it during spring practices, it would come as no surprise if 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo winds up making a major statement with his play during the upcoming preseason. The 49ers made it clear in April that Garoppolo no longer had a hold on the starting quarterback job over a long-term basis when they selected rookie Trey Lance in the 2021 NFL Draft.
