Colin Kaepernick: ‘I’m not out of breath’

Benched San Francisco 49ers QB Colin Kaepernick spoke to the media today and responded to head coach Jim Tomsula saying, "I want Colin to step back and breath."

Cam Inman of The Mercury News posted the following video on Twitter of Kaepernick's response to what Tomsula had to say.


QB Blaine Gabbert will get the start for the 49ers on Sunday when they face the Atlanta Falcons at Levi's Stadium.

49ers-Jets Injury Report: George Kittle, Jason Verrett ruled out; Jamison Crowder out for New York

The San Francisco 49ers are preparing for their Week 2 contest against the New York Jets on Sunday at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey. Tight end George Kittle missed his third practice of the week and has been ruled "out" of Sunday's game due to a knee injury. Kittle suffered the injury just before halftime during Week 1's loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Cornerback Jason Verrett is the only other 49ers player who has officially been ruled "out" — other than those on injury lists. Defensive end Dee Ford experienced some neck stiffness this week and underwent further tests. He has been listed as "questionable" to play against the Jets. On the Jets' side, wide receiver Jamison Crowder has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury.

49ers' Kyle Shanahan jokingly blames bad luck vs. Cardinals on son, not switch from red hat

The San Francisco 49ers being able to convert third downs wasn't the only thing noticeably absent from Sunday's loss against the Arizona Cardinals. Head coach Kyle Shanhan's red hat from last season, dubbed by fans as the "Shanahat" was also nowhere to be seen. The headwear had been a good luck charm during the 49ers' incredible run that ended just short of a championship. Shanahan had wanted to ditch the red hat but his wife would not allow it.
