No altercations during 49ers training camp

Aug 7, 2015 at 3:38 PM--

Earlier today, TMZ Sports reported that San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick and former linebacker Aldon Smith -- who was released by the team today after being arrested last night -- had been involved in a fight during the team's practice on Tuesday. TMZ claimed that it got so heated that "players had to pull them apart."

Beat writer Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, who covers the team religiously, says that there have been no on-the-field altercations that he has seen.

TMZ had claimed that the fight had been over over Smith's ex-girlfriend.

However, Matt Maiocco did remember that the media was not allowed at the team's walk-through. So if anything did happen, it would have been there.

Then the rumors got really interesting...

Take it for what it is worth.

There wasn't a whole lot of good to take away from the San Francisco 49ers' 24-20 defeat against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday afternoon, and fans may not be ready to look at that game yet. Images of quarterback Kyler Murray evading 49ers defenders or wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins torching defensive backs may still be fresh in your minds. But how about just one memorable play? It's a block by new 49ers left tackle Trent Williams, who absolutely obliterated Cardinals linebacker Jordan Hicks on an end-around run

Rapoport discusses Jimmy Garoppolo's inconsistent performance during 49ers-Cardinals

NFL insider Ian Rapoport seemed a little surprised to hear about Monday morning's local criticisms of quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo following the San Francisco 49ers' Week 1 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. "Is that what's going on this morning? Is it Jimmy G is terrible?" Rapoport asked on KNBR's Murph & Mac show Monday morning. While Garoppolo's numbers, at first glance, look comparable to his Cardinals counterpart, Kyler Murray, anyone who watched the game knows that the latter was the better quarterback on the football field at Levi's Stadium on Sunday. Much of that had to do with the nearly 100 rushing yards Murray had against the 49ers defense. You throw out his two kneel-downs to end the game, and he is right at the century mark. "I

He provided some injury updates during the Zoom call. Fans are probably eagerly awaiting an update on George Kittle, and Shanahan provided one. The All-Pro tight end suffered a knee sprain during the first half against the Cardinals. He left for the locker room just before halftime to be examined. Kittle returned with his teammates in the second half and played for the remainder of the game. "He has a knee sprain. We'll see how he comes in on Wednesday," Shanahan told reporters. "He was a little sore today, but we'll wait to see how he is on Wednesday to see if he's able to practice or be able to go
