Chase Thomas on surgery: ‘Everything went great’

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Chase Thomas, who recently tore his ACL, is reporting via Twitter and Instagram that his surgery went well.

Thomas appeared in five games last season as a first-year NFL player. He tore the ligament during an offseason workout at Stanford.


Thomas is expected to be placed on the non-football injury list by the 49ers.

The season ended prematurely for offensive tackle Mike McGlinchey and defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw. McGlinchey suffered a torn quad in the San Francisco 49ers' November 7 loss to the Arizona Cardinals. Kinlaw has been dealing with a knee injury that was initially sustained at the end of last season. He recently underwent ACL reconstruction. 49ers' Kyle Shanahan: Dre Greenlaw had a good practice, Dee Ford 'feeling great'

San Francisco 49ers linebacker Dre Greenlaw is on track to be activated from injured reserve after having his practice window opened last week. Head coach Kyle Shanahan hopes Greenlaw and defensive end Dee Ford can be activated in time for Sunday's game against the Minnesota Vikings. That's the plan, for now. Ford did not practice during Wednesday's session but is expected to do so on Thursday. He's been on injured reserve since November 6 due to a back injury.
