LB Desmond Bishop will visit with the 49ers

Mar 28, 2015 at 8:23 PM--

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, linebacker Desmond Bishop will visit with the San Francisco 49ers.

Bishop has played with the Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and was signed by the 49ers on December 16, 2014. He is currently a free agent.

He was originally a sixth-round draft pick of the Packers out of California in 2007. In his two games with the 49ers, he had two tackles on special teams.

The 49ers have already visited with free agent linebacker Erin Henderson and will visit with seven-time Pro Bowler Lance Briggs on Monday.

The team is looking to add a little more depth after losing both Patrick Willis and Chris Borland to retirement. Signing a free agent that can play inside linebacker would allow the 49ers to focus on other priorities in the NFL Draft.

The center joined the 49ers on a five-year, $47.5 million contract on March 14, 2018. Richburg's 2019 season came to an early end due to a torn patellar tendon suffered during Week 14. Patrick Daugherty of NBC Sports released his ranking of NFL head coaches heading into the 2021 season. Bill Belichick of the New England Patriots came in at No. 1, of course. He is followed by Andy Reid of the Kansas City Chiefs. Where does Kyle Shanahan fall within the ranking? The San Francisco 49ers head coach comes in at No. 10, and is the third NFC West coach listed. Sean McVay of the Los Angeles Rams sits at No. 5, and Pete Carroll of the Seattle Seahawks is at No. 8. "The widely held hypothesis that Kyle Shanahan is an elite young coach seemed proven when the 49ers advanced to Super Bowl LIV," wrote Daugherty. "Then he won six games again. Six is

San Francisco 49ers president Al Guido joined 95.7 The Game this morning and was asked about the possibility of the team unveiling red home versions of the throwback uniforms players have been wearing in recent seasons. "The best I can say right now is we've got a lot coming for the 75th anniversary," Guido responded, hinting that the fan-favorite uniforms might be part of the plans. You could imagine him smiling through the radio interview. Guido believes the 49ers will hold the annual State of the Franchise event on June 30, and like last year, it will be presented virtually. "We've got a number of updates on a lot of what our fans have been asking for," Guido added. "... We've been doing our best to listen to the fans and bringing back that
