Those hoping that running back Frank Gore would return to the San Francisco 49ers for his 11th season received some good news from team general manager Trent Baalke today.
Regarding a new contract for Gore, Baalke said, "We're still working on it. It will take some time to resolve, but our intentions are to have Frank back."
ESPN's Ed Werder reported yesterday that the 49ers and Gore's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, were engaged in contract talks.
Gore has spent his entire career with the 49ers. He was drafted in the third round of the 2005 NFL Draft out of Miami. He has rushed for 11,073 yards during his career.
Trent Baalke said he and Frank Gore spoke 2 days ago following Gore's Instagram post. Says there's still a desire to re-sign Gore. Baalke:..
