According to NFL Network's Ian Rapoport, the San Francisco 49ers are expected to meet with Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase tonight in an attempt to make a final push for him as head coach.
The Broncos and former head coach John Fox parted ways today following yesterday's Indianapolis Colts upset victory in Denver, eliminating the Broncos from the playoffs.
The 49ers may have to act fast if they hope to land Gase. CBS Sports' Jason La Canfora says that Gase may be a strong internal candidate to replace Fox in Denver.
Gase has been a target of the 49ers since their coaching search started. The unexpected departure of Fox may force the team to be more aggressive.
This will be the 49ers' second interview with Gase. The two met in Denver on January 2.
The #49ers are expected to meet with and make a final push for #Broncos OC Adam Gase tonight, source said.
