Frank Gore goes down with injury vs Seahawks

Dec 14, 2014 at 2:38 PM--

San Francisco 49ers running back Frank Gore went down with an injury after blocking for the offense during the second quarter in the team's game against the Seattle Seahawks at CenturyLink Field.

Gore suffered a head injury on the play.

He looked ok on the sideline shortly after the injury and was later led to the locker room by 49ers medical staff. However, he was able to jog off to the locker room, which is certainly good news.

The 49ers led the Seahawks 7-3 at that time.

UPDATE:

Frank Gore has been ruled out for this game.

The San Francisco 49ers promoted DeMeco Ryans to defensive coordinator after Robert Saleh left to become the head coach of the New York Jets. Ryans was asked in June what fans can expect to see from his defense this season. Was he planning to follow the same blueprint that Saleh laid out, or were some bigger changes on the horizon? "Our defense will be a fast, attacking, aggressive defense," Ryans responded. "I want guys to play fast. I want guys who are smart. I want guys who are going to play physical. That's one thing for me is just growing up, watching the 49ers play defense. The defense has always stood out here. This has been a defensive organization. They

"I have no injury," wrote San Francisco 49ers defensive tackle Javon Kinlaw via an Instagram story. Out of an abundance of caution on the part of the team, Kinlaw has been limited in practices this week, working in individual drills but not in team drills. Head coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters on Wednesday that the former first-round pick recently underwent a procedure to reduce the swelling in his knee, indicating that it was related to the "clean-up procedure" Kinlaw underwent after last season. "He had, traveling and stuff like a month ago or something, [his knee] just swelled up a little bit," Shanahan said. "I don't know whether they drained it or not. I'll get it exactly for you guys tomorrow. But just a minor thing. And so, he had to stay off of it

Al-Shaair walked off the field with the team's medical staff and linebacker Fred Warner. After practice, head coach Kyle Shanahan informed reporters that the team is "pretty optimistic" about the injury after very early preliminary examinations. Al-Shaair has been with the 49ers since he signed with the team as an undrafted free agent out of Florida Atlantic in 2019. He has recorded 53 tackles, a tackle for a loss, a quarterback hit, an interception, two passes defensed, and a forced fumble in 31 games and nine starts with the team. Other
