49ers announce 13 training camp practices, make tickets available to fans

The San Francisco 49ers made tickets to 13 training camp practices available to fans, including an August 7 practice at Levi's Stadium which has been declared "Dwight Clark Day." Below is the upcoming practice schedule. Players are scheduled to report to Santa Clara on Tuesday. The San Francisco 49ers have gone through five practices in training camp. Today's will be the first padded session, so expect things to get a little more physical. Head coach Kyle Shanahan insists there is no quarterback competition brewing in Santa Clara. Jimmy Garoppolo is still slated to be the starter come Week 1 against the Detroit Lions. "What I told Jimmy right when we made the trade is, 'I don't know any rookie who can come and beat you out if you're playing at his best self,'" Shanahan told Peter King last week. The 49ers drafted Trey Lance out of North Dakota State with the No. 3 overall pick. The rookie is the quarterback of the future,

It's been a long journey back for San Francisco 49ers pass rusher Nick Bosa. He suffered a devastating knee injury during Week 2 of last season and admitted the road to recovery was often "really rough" on him mentally. Bosa was entering his second NFL season and coming off an impressive campaign that earned him NFL Defensive Rookie of the Year honors. The injury derailed everything. Luckily, he had the support of his family, including his brother, Los Angeles Chargers edge rusher Joey Bosa. "Once you get past the initial pain of [the injury], then there's really no other option but to come back better," Bosa told reporters after Thursday's practice.
