Sep 26, 2013 at 8:54 PM--

San Francisco 49ers offensive tackle Joe Staley went down with an injury late in the 4th quarter against the St. Louis Rams. Staley could be heard screaming while laying flat on his back on the field.

Both teams gathered around Staley following the injury. However, Staley was able to walk off of the field with a little help.

According to Matt Maiocco of CSN Bay Area, Staley said "I'm OK" to teammates and was walking on his own power. Numerous team beat writers reported that Staley was seen exiting the X-ray room and walking normally.

The San Francisco 49ers lost one of their most influential leaders on offense when Joe Staley retired this offseason. That doesn't mean the six-time Pro Bowl tackle, who spent his entire 13-year NFL career with the Niners, isn't still influencing his former teammates. The 49ers first signed Verrett to a one-year deal in 2019 with hopes he'd be able to return to his old form after missing 2018 with a torn Achilles. But injuries got the best of him again in 2019, as he appeared in just one game before an ankle issue put him on injured reserve in
