According to Matt Maiocco's blog, Mike Nolan addressed the media after making their final pick on day one. Nolan insisted that Wisconsin wide receiver Brandon Williams was always one of the targets at No. 84. Maiocco goes on to say that Williams will return punts and kickoffs and may be able to work into the mix as a third wide receiver.
Nolan also said that there are two players still on the board that they targeted back in the first round.
"And if those guys are gone, I'll lie to you and tell you the guy we picked is one of the players we wanted," Nolan said.
Maiocco also stated that the 49ers would likely look to select a quarterback at some point during day two.
While it may not mean anything, the 49ers visited with UCLA quarterback Drew Olson on Friday, April 21.
