The San Francisco 49ers will travel to face the Houston Texans at Reliant Stadium in Houston, Texas.

The 49ers are coming off of a 17-6 preseason win over the Minnesota Vikings while the Texans are coming off of a 26-13 win over the Carolina Panthers.

According to Field Yates of ESPN, the San Francisco 49ers have claimed cornerback Mark Fields II off waivers (h/t to Patrick Tulini). The Houston Texans waived Fields on Tuesday. The Niners will take over the defensive back's one-year, $780,000 contract, per the Houston Chronicle. The Houston Texans have insisted they have no desire to trade quarterback Deshaun Watson, and that's the story they're sticking to.
