It's worth noting that NFL Network analyst Cynthia Frelund actually projects 10.1 wins for the San Francisco 49ers, but I didn't need a bunch of social media posts asking what 0.1 of a win is without bothering to read this. Frelund ran her most simulations to date, a whopping 300,000 that included every regular-season game. That's a total of 81.6 million simulated games. She then took her data and vetted it with several experts to determine the projected win total for each team in 2021 based on those simulations. The San Francisco 49ers ended up with the third-most projected win average in the NFC, with only the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (12.5) and

Trey Lance received four snaps against the Detroit Lions on Sunday. It wasn't a whole lot of experience for the San Francisco 49ers' developing rookie quarterback, but it was better than nothing—a point that head coach Kyle Shanahan made yesterday. "I think getting a guy any playing time when he's the number two quarterback helps his development more than getting no playing time," Shanahan responded when questioned about whether or not the limited opportunities hurt Lance's development. Despite the limited in-game snaps, All-Pro tight end George Kittle likes what he's seen from his rookie quarterback. He joined ESPN's Keyshawn, JWill &

The NFC West is on a roll, which isn't necessarily great news for the San Francisco 49ers when it comes to the success of their division rivals. Through two weeks of NFL play this season, the NFC West is 7-1 as a whole. That, of course, includes the 49ers' Week 2 17-11 victory over the Philadelphia Eagles. The Seattle Seahawks became the first NFC West to lose a game, falling to the Tennessee Titans 33-30 in Week 2. The Los Angeles Rams beat the Indianapolis Colts 27-24 and the Arizona Cardinals edged the Minnesota Vikings 34-33. There is a three-way tie for the division lead, proving what many believed—that the NFC West would likely be the most competitive division this season. "NFC West,

Chance to win a championship influenced Josh Norman's decision to sign with 49ers

Josh Norman is entering his 10th NFL season. He is a Pro Bowl cornerback. He is an All-Pro defender. There's just one thing that is missing from his résumé—a championship. That's why he decided to sign with the San Francisco 49ers, even with other teams courting him. "I can honestly say I've done what I want to do in this league except one thing, and that's win a championship," Norman told reporters after practice today. "My next suitor, for me, was going to be who[ever] that was on my list. "San Fran was at the very top of that list. We've been talking to each other for a while. We've been courting each other for quite some time. It's been months that we've been courting each other. Some other teams was in the mix of that. ... But to [ask]
