San Francisco 49ers sign OL Senio Kelemete, waive OL Justin Skule with injury designation

The San Francisco 49ers added some depth and experience to their offensive line on Friday, signing versatile veteran Senio Kelemete to a one-year deal. News of the signing was first reported by Mike Garafolo of NFL Media on Friday morning. The 49ers officially announced the move later in the day. To make room for Kelemete on the roster, the 49ers waived third-year lineman Justin Skule with an injured designation. Skule will be out for the 2021 season after tearing his ACL at practice earlier this week. Tight end George Kittle wowed one of his bosses, San Francisco 49ers CEO Jed York, and it had nothing to do with an amazing catch or block on the football field. York shared the following story with Rich Eisen today. "I think George is easily one of the top people in the NFL," York said. "Just an awesome guy, an awesome, awesome football player. 49ers defense could get more aggressive under new coordinator DeMeco Ryans

What will the 49ers defense look like now that DeMeco Ryans is in charge? There will undoubtedly be some similarities on that front to what was seen under former defensive coordinator Robert Saleh, but Ryans wants to bring his own touches to the defense, starting with a more aggressive approach. "Our defense will be a fast, attacking, aggressive defense," Ryans told reporters Wednesday in his first media session since being named defensive coordinator in January after Saleh took over as head coach of the New York Jets.
