Tough task: 49ers can't let Packers WR Davante Adams have another big game

By David Bonilla
Jan 21

Davante Adams, the two-time first-team All-Pro and five-time Pro Bowler, is among the best wide receivers in the NFL. He's been one of quarterback Aaron Rodgers' most reliable weapons this season and will be someone the San Francisco 49ers defense has to slow down during Saturday's playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Adams has been a handful for the 49ers in recent years. The receiver has hauled in 48 receptions for 618 yards and five touchdowns in five meetings with the Niners since 2018, including the 2019 season's nine-reception, 138-yard performance in the NFC Championship Game. That's an average of nearly 124 yards per game. He's been dominant. "I just think of how balanced he is and how his lower half is with his feet," head coach Kyle Shanahan said

No, 49er fans, Joe Staley doesn't have tickets to sell you

The San Francisco 49ers defeated the Green Bay Packers Saturday night, in the snow, at frigid Lambeau Field to punch their ticket to the NFC Championship game. After the victory the team knew they would be facing either the Tampa Bay Buccaneers or the Los Angeles Rams, depending on the result of their Divisional Round matchup Sunday afternoon. The Rams jumped out to an early and decisive lead against the Bucs, and not long after, tweets began appearing about Ticketmaster limiting ticket sales to individuals with Los Angeles-area addresses only. This information got 49ers Twitter in an uproar, and then later, more tweets appeared from Rams fans, and even Rams' left tackle Andrew Whitworth's wife, imploring Rams season ticket holders not to sell their tickets to 49er

Fred Warner explains why the 49ers have unwavering trust in Jimmy Garoppolo

By David Bonilla

Jimmy Garoppolo has had to block out a lot of outside noise. You have to imagine that can be tough at times. The San Francisco 49ers quarterback is often criticized by the media and a vocal portion of the fanbase. Garoppolo spoke with reporters before Wednesday's practice and said he refuses to get lost in the noise. He knows no good will come from listening to it. Instead, he stays focused on the task ahead. Last week, it was upsetting the top-seeded Green Bay Packers. This week, it is beating the Los Angeles Rams for the third time this season and advancing to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years. "I think it's just about knowing yourself as a player, as a person," Garoppolo said. "And as long as these guys in this locker room have faith in me and

Peter King feels 49ers should keep Jimmy Garoppolo, but first-rounder in trade not unthinkable

The San Francisco 49ers are in the middle of a playoff run, their second in three seasons. They hope to extend their season beyond Saturday's Divisional Round playoff game against the Green Bay Packers. Still, even now, it's difficult not to wonder about the Niners' looming offseason quarterback decision. For many, there is no choice. The 49ers will have to move on from Jimmy Garoppolo, transitioning to the team's No. 3 overall pick, Trey Lance. Obviously, San Francisco would like to get something in return for Garoppolo, if that happens. Of course, Peter King of NBC Sports isn't so sure parting with Garoppolo is the best option. "I've had a two-fold opinion about Garoppolo," King told 95.7 The Game's Damon Bruce and Ray Ratto on Tuesday. "Number
